Prices and quotes
How much does rug cleaning cost?
The price is calculated per square metre and depends on the material, the condition and the treatments. It is set by quote, from a photo and the dimensions, before you commit to anything.
How much does a fringe repair cost?
It depends on the width of the rug and the length of fringe to be remade. The quote is firm before work begins.
Collection, timings
Do you collect the rug from my home?
We arrange collection and return with you when we send the quote, depending on your address and the size of the rug.
How long do you keep the rug?
Wet-washing requires complete drying before the rug is returned. The timing depends on the thickness and the season; it is stated in the quote.
Can I drop the rug off myself?
Yes, by appointment, at the Schuman roundabout in Brussels.
The rugs
Do you clean silk rugs?
Silk needs a specific soap, cooler water and slow drying, out of the light. Send a photo and we'll tell you what we recommend.
What about antique and collector's rugs?
They are examined with the piece in hand: colour-fastness of the dyes, condition of the warp, previous repairs. Washing and restoration are adapted to the value and fragility of the piece.
My rug's colours have run. Can it be fixed?
Often, at least in part, with a suitable wash. We first test the colour-fastness of the dyes on a discreet corner and tell you what is possible.
Safety, insurance
Do I need to clear the room or move the furniture?
No: the rug is washed at the workshop, not at your home. It just needs to be accessible so it can be rolled up.
